x+ x/5 + x/3 = 55  we need a common denominator of 15

15x/15 + 3x/15 +5x/15 = 88    rewrite so that the x's are on top and 15 on bottom

(15x + 3x+ 5x)/15 = 88           add the top together

23x / 15 = 88                           multiply both sides by 15

23x = 88 * 15                           

23x = 1320

x = 1320/23

x = 57 and 9/23
