The graphs to plot are y=-4x and y=2-2x. The first has negative slope (\) of -4 and the second also has negative slope of -2. The x and y intercepts of the first are at the origin and the second has an x intercept of 1 and a y intercept of 2. By joining a line through the intercepts of the second, you get the straight line graph; for the first graph put in a value for x (for example, x=2, so y=-8, the point (2,-8)), work out y and draw a line between the origin and the point; and the solution of the system is where the two graphs cross. They cross when -4x=2-2x, 0=2+2x, 2x=-2, so x=-1 and y=4 is the solution. The point of intersection is therefore (-1,4).
