My instructions are to use the graph of g(x)=-x^2-2x+3, to solve =x^2-2x+3=0, and to solve -x^2-2x+3<5

Can you tell me where to start?  Am I supposed to factor them all together?  I just had a brain freeze and am stunped.

Thanks

x^2 +2x-3=0

(x-1)*(x+3)=0

for x^2 -2x -8< 0, draw the kerv for =0

(x-2)*(x+2)

then the area under the kerv is y<0
