-.2, .1, .6, and -.8 greatest to least  between -1 and 1 on a scale how are those numbers arranged?

Let's put in zero (0) before the decimal point. This gives the numbers as.

-0.2, 0.1, 0.6, and -0.8

put the negative numbers first (since they are smaller) then the positive ones.

-0.2, -0.8, 0.1, 0.6

The bigger the negative number, the smaller it is, so

-0.8, -0.2, 0.1, 0.6
