2x + 4y = 8
 
x 0 2 4
y 2 1 0

Pl0t these points on the graph, join them , you get a straight line which is represented by 2x  +  4y  =  8.

Choose some point, say (5,5) When you substitute this in the given equation you get

 10  + 20  <  8

30    <   8     which is not true, which means the point (5,5) is not in the required region. so shade the region which is on the other side of the line.
