    5u  +  3v  =  -15

   ( 3u  +    v   =  -6 ) -3  -----   multiply both sides by   -3   to eliminate   3v  and  v

hence:

  5u   +   3v   =  -15

 -9u   -   3v   =    18    

-4u              =      3

                u  =  - 3/4   or   -0.75

sustitute the value of u to either of the given equation to get the value of  

v  =  - 13 3/4   or   -13.75
