Given the line 2x - 5y = 10, what is the y-intercept of a line that has a slope parallel to the given line and passes through the point (1, 2)? If you could give the answer and the process on how to do it that would be great.

line: 2x-5y=10 thru point=(1,2)

5y=2x-10, so y=0.4x -2

slope=0.4

projejt line from x=1 tu x=0...deltax=-1

deltay=slope*deltax  =0.4*(-1) =-0.4

y: 2-0.4=1.6

point= (0,1.6)
