25% is just half of half. Figure out the half first of the number.

31,956. Best way is to break it down with what you know

half of 30,000 is 15,000(think of it as half of 30, which is 15)

half of 1,000 is 500(think of it as half of 100,which is 50)

half of 900 is 450(half of 800 is 400 and half of 100 is 50)

half of 50 is 25

and half of 6 is 3. Add the half numbers (15,000+500+450+25+3)together to get half of the number. 15,978. Best way to check is multiple by 2.

15978 is only half and now you have to take half of this number to get 25%

half of 15000 is 7500(half of 14000 is 7400 and half of 1000 is 500)

half of 900 is 450(half of 800 is 400 and half 100 is 50)

half of 70 is 35(half of 60 is 30 and half of 10 is 15)

half of 8 is 4

now do the same from before. 7500+450+35+4=7989

easier way is to find it on a caculator. You could times the number by half and that number by half(.50 is the decimal for a half)

or just do number times .25(which is 25%)
