factor 18x^2y-3xy-3y step by step.

Look at the constant values, 18, 3, 3. Take out a common factor ijn the constants.

3(6x^2y - xy - y)    the y is a factor common to all three of the xy-terms, so yake it out too.

3y(6x^2 - x - 1)     look now to factorise the quadratic remaining

3y(3x + 1)(2x - 1)
