From 1st equation y=6+4x. Substitute for y in the second equation:

-5x-(6+4x)=21,

-5x-6-4x=21,

-9x=27,

x=-3 so y=6+4(-3)=6-12=-6.

SOLUTION: x=-3, y=-6.
