4x-2y=-8 can be reduced to:

2x-y=-4.

We can write x in terms of y:

2x=y-4, x=½(y-4). From this equation we can work out x from the given values of y:

x  y

0  4 (x=½(4-4)=0)

-2 0 (x=½(0-4)=-4/2=-2)

2  8 (x=½(8-4)=4/2=2)
