I find the easiest is to trial divide by primes, starting at 2, 3, 5, 7 and so on.

  • 43 is Prime - it only has factors of 43 and 1
  • 57 = 3 x 19
  • 78 = 2 x 3 x 13
  • 108 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 3
  • 59 is Prime - it can only 59 and 1
  • 69 = 3 x 23

You can visualize the above numbers and their prime factors at stats fiddle: http://statsfiddle.info/Primes/SieveOfEratosthenes/40
