solve for y to get this in slope intercept form.

subtract x from both sides

4y=-x-4

divide both sides by 4

y=-1/4x-1

This is now in slope intercept form y=mx+b

In this form

m=slope

b=y-intercept

in your equation

y=-1/4x-1

slope=-1/4

y-intercept = -1
