hello i would like to know how to break this problem down. 2 3/4*1/2 i know the answer is 1 3/8 but i would like to see how to get there

1/2 of 2 3/4 is the same as 2 3/4 times 1/2.

1/2 of 2 3/4 is 1/2*2+1/2*3/4=1+3/8=1 3/8.
