b = 5 1/6 + 3 3/4

   =( 5 +3) + (1/6 + 3/4)

  = 8 + (12/6*2 + 3*3/ 4*3)            [making denominator equal]

  =  8 + (12 + 9) /12

  = 8  + (21/12)

  = 8 + 7/4                             [dividing numarator and denominator by 3]

  = 8 7/4

I thought 3+5=8

2+9=11 over 12

8= 21/12 than divide by 3
