(sinx+cosx)^2 is a special product Expand= sin^2x+2sinxcosx+cos^2 Note the sin^2x+cos^2x=1 =1+2sinxcox note that 2sinxcosx is an identity of sin2x a double angle identity 1+sin2x=1+sin2x thats all
