how do you solve a right triangle
i know how to do it but i just dont know where the hypotenuse....opposite...and the adjacent go...thats where i get confused...
In a right triangle, the hypotenuse is the longest of the three sides. The terms "opposite" and "adjacent"
depend on which angle you are working with. Pick one of the angles. The "opposite" side is the one that
the angle faces. The "adjacent" side is one of the two sides that form the angle, the other being the hypotenuse.
Draw a horizontal line from left to right. From the right-endpoint, draw a line straight up, forming a
right-angle. From the left-endpoint, draw a slanted line up to the top of the second line you drew.
That slanted line is the hypotenuse. Using the angle located at the left end of the first line, the
"opposite" side is the second line you drew, the one extending upward. The "adjacent" side is
the fist line you drew, the horizontal line running out from the angle.
