what is 10-2x2x2x1/4+9.5? what did i do wrong to get 18 or 10

I got answer of 17.5 but need to know why answer of 18 or 10 is wrong and explain what was done wrong

it works this way...

10 - (2x2x2) x (1/4) + 9.5

10 - 8 x 0.25 +9.5

10 - 2 + 9.5 = 17.5
