y = 3x + 4

13x + 4y = 10

.

3x - y = -4

13x + 4y = 10

.

12x - 4y = -16

13x + 4y = 10

add the equations

.

25x + 0y = -6

x = -6/25

13(-6/25) + 4y = 10

-78/25 + 4y = 10

4y = 250/10 + 78/10

4y = 328/10

y = 82/10

y = 41/5

Answer:  x = -6/25, y = 41/5
