A pentagon divides 360 degrees by 5=360/5=72. This is the angle at the vertex of 5 isosceles triangles. The equal angles of each of these triangles is (1/2)(180-72)=54 degrees. The interior angles of a pentagon are formed by two angles of adjacent isosceles triangles, so the angle is 2*54=108 degrees.
