I guess angles 1 and 2 lie on a straight line, so they are complementary, i.e., they add up to 180. So that means 5x+20+3x+80=180. From this we add together the x's and the numbers: 8x+100=180. Subtract 100 from each side: 8x=80, so, dividing each side by 8, x=10, making angle 1=70 and angle 2=110.
