Find the measure of an angle such that the sum of the measures of its complement and its supplements is 220°. The angle measures _____°.

Let the angle be x.

Supplement:  S = 180 - x

Complement: C = 90 - x

S + C = 220

(180 - x) + (90 - x) = 220

270 - 2x = 220

50 = 2x

x = 25

If the angle is x the sum of its complement and supplement are 90-x+180-x=220. So 270-2x=220, 2x=50, x=25°.
