I think there are two similar triangles (a small one ABC inside a bigger one ADE).

Using the equivalent side ratios we have:

AC/AE=BC/DE. We're given BC=3, AC=7, DE=5.

7/AE=3/5, cross-multiplying:

35=3AE, so AE=35/3 or 11⅔.
