x + y + z = 16 --- (1)
x - z = 12 --- (2)
y = -2 --- (3)

Substituting (3) into (1), we have:

x + (-2) + z = 16
x + z = 16 + 2
x + z = 18
z = 18 - x --- (4)

Substituting (4) into (2), we have:

x - (18 - x) = 12
x - 18 + x = 12
2x = 12 + 18
2x = 30
x = 30 / 2
x = 15

Substituting x = 15 into (4), we have:

z = 18 - 15
z = 3

Hence, we have x = 15, y = -2 and z = 3.

x-(18-x)=12

x-18+x=12

2x=12+18

2x=30

x=30/2

x=15
