I assume yer radius is for the OUTSIDE serkel

1 side av equalateral triangel=root(3)times outside radius

root(3)*8*root(3)=8*3=24 for 1 side av triangel=length av base

hite=side*koside(30deg)=24*0.866025=20.78461

area=base*hite/2=20.78461*12=24.94153
