x and we have 2x.

x + 2x = 300
3x = 300
x = 100

The other number is 2x; 2 * 100 = 200    < The answer

100 + 200 = 300

x+y=300
x/y=20/10
10x=20y
x=2y

Substituting
2y+y=300
3y=300
y=100

x=2*100
x=200
