y=x+140 x+y=560 x+y=x+x+140...=2x+140...=560 2x=560-140....=420 x=210 y=210+140=350

A=S+140 where A is the height of the Acme building and S the height of the Swartz, S+140+S=560, their combined heights. So 2S+140=560; 2S=560-140=420; S=420/2=210 feet and A, the height of Acme, is 210+140=350 feet.
