what is the answer to 2 (-r+8)=4+7 (r+3) in 8th grade algebra

Let's simplify the expression. We have

2 (-r+8)=4+7 (r+3)         multiply out the bracketed terms

-2r + 16 = 4 + 7r + 21   now put all the r-terms on one side and all the constant values on the other

-2r - 7r = -16 + 4 + 21   add everything together

-9r = 9                          divide bith sides by 9 abd change the sign

r = -5/9

Answer: r = -1
