Start with point slope form:

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 4 = (-3/4)(x - -2)

y - 4 = (-3/4)(x + 2)

We want slope intercept form (y = mx + b), so let's move things around a bit:

y - 4 = (-3/4)x - 3/2

y = (-3/4)x - 3/2 + 4

y = (-3/4)x - 3/2 + 8/2

y = (-3/4)x + 5/2

that's slope intercept form

.

Now move things around a bit to get standard form (Ax + By = C)

y = (-3/4)x + 5/2

(3/4)x + y = 5/2

multiply both sides by 4

3x + 4y = 10

that's standard form
