Problem: If the area is 24 3/4 feet squared and the width is 5 1/2 feet what is the length?
If a rectangle is 24 3/4 ft squared and the width is 5 1/2 feet what is the length?

Area is length times width. You are given the area and the width. Divide
the area by the width to determine the length.

A = L * W
A / W = L
24.75 sq ft / 5.5 ft = 4.5 ft

This shows the length is 4.5 ft, although the longer side (in
this case, 5.5) would generally called the length. However, the
answer is 4.5 ft.
