Problem: what are the steps to aswering x^2+4x-12
please show me the steps to compelte this questions

x^2 + 4x - 12

Find factors of 12 that have a difference of 4: 6 and 2
Because the 12 has to be negative, one of the factors
has to be negative. Also, because the co-efficient of x
has to be positive, the larger factor has to be positive.

x^2 + 4x - 12 = (x + 6)(x - 2)
