The ratio of the stick's height to its shadow will be the same as the ratio of the pole's height to its shadow:

1.2/0.50=p/0.82 where p is the pole height. So p=0.82*1.2/0.50=82*1.2/50=1.968m.

This problem is essentially one of proportionality.

Hieght of the stick is 120cm. The stick and the shadow can be assumed as the perpendicular and base of a right angled triangle

therefore, taking the angle of elevation as xdegree

tanx=120/50=2.4=tan 68degree

x=24degree

Similarly taking the pole as hieght and its shadow as base of a right angled triangle,

height of pole=82*tan 68degree=196.8cm=1.96m

Please check others answers I might be wrong.
