If I am reading this correctly the stop price went from 28 and 1/8th up 1/4

28 1/8 + 1/4

find a common denominator in the fractions.  In this case it would be 8

1/4=2/8

28 1/8 + 2/8 = 28 3/8

then the price dropped 5/8

28 3/8 - 5/8

you can take 1 away from the whole number 28 and make it 8/8

In other words 27 11/8 is the same as 28 3/8

Now you can subtract

27 11/8 - 5/8 = 27 6/8

That can be reduced to

27 3/4
