Take off the pound of dried fruit: 41.18-8.25=32.93.

If x is the number of pounds of peanuts, then the number of pounds of cashews is x-2. So 3.99x+5.99(x-2)=32.93; 3.99x+5.99x-11.98=32.93; 9.98x=32.93+11.98=44.91 and x=44.91/9.98=9/2=4.5 lbs of peanuts.
