Find x if log3(x^2+4x+76)=4

log3(x^2+4x+76) = 4, therefore, by definition,

x^2 + 4x + 76 = 3^4 = 9^2 = 81

x^2 + 4x - 5 = 0

(x - 1)(x + 5) = 0

x = 1, x = -5
