If the typing errors are removed we have the sequence: 4, 12, 36, 108, where a=4 (first term) and r=3 (common ratio). The sum of the terms is 4(1+3+9+...+3¹²)=4(3¹³-1)/(3-1)=4(1594322/2)=3188644.
