The first thing to notice about this graph is that it's linear, that is, a straight line, so we only need two points to plot it. We also need to be sure we include the intercepts. We can solve both these requirements by plugging in x=0 to find the y-intercept:

4y-2=0, 4y=2, y=2/4=½. So mark ½ on the y-axis.

Plug in y=0 to find the x-intercept:

-2=x, so mark -2 on the x-axis. Now draw the line through the intercepts:
