0.6x - 0.3y = 2.4

if y = 2x + 1:

0.6x - 0.3(2x + 1) = 2.4

0.6x - 0.6x - 0.3 = 2.4

-0.3 = 2.4  False

if 3x + y = 2:

y = 2 - 3x

0.6x - 0.3(2 - 3x) = 2.4

0.6x - 0.6 + 0.9x = 2.4

1.5x = 3

x = 3/1.5 = 2

if 2y = 4 - 6x:

y = (4 - 6x)/2

0.6x - 0.3((4 - 6x)/2) = 2.4

0.6x - 0.3(0.5(4 - 6x)) = 2.4

0.6x - (0.6 - 0.9x) = 2.4

0.6x - 0.6 + 0.9x = 2.4

1.5x = 3.0

x = 3.0/1.5 = 2

if y = 3 - 2x:

0.6x - 0.3(3 - 2x) = 2.4

0.6x - 0.9 + 0.6x = 2.4

1.2x = 3.3

x = 3.3/1.2 = 2.75
