perimeter of a triangle with base is 8ft the hight is 5ft and the area equals 40ft squared?

The question can't be answered because the given information conflicts with itself.  If the base of a triangle is 8 ft and the height is 5 ft, then the area (b*h/2) is 20 ft^2, not 40 ft^2.
