2n3-8n2-3n+12=2n2(n-4)-3(n-4)=(2n2-3)(n-4).

From the factorisation the zeroes can be found:

n-4=0, so n=4; or 2n2-3=0, 2n2=3, n2=3/2, n=±√(3/2)=-1.2247 or 1.2247 approx.
