What is 7.8% of $1000.00

This is alot easier then it looks. 

First change 7.8% to a decimal = .078                     (Move two places to the left)

 

Your multiplying by 1000. All you do is move the decimal 3 places (for each 0) to the right.

 

.78 * 1000 = 78
