Any history attached to the result gotten when 1 is divided by 81?

1 divided by 81 seems to produce the result .0123456789 etc....

Is that true?  If so, is there any history of those who may have done some work on that process?

Jack Reacher novels include this discovery more than once. also the sum of 8 and 1 is 9 which is the square root of 81.
