An angle = x

Supplement of the angle = 180 - x

One half of the supplement of the angle = (180 - x) / 2

Complement of the angle = 90 - x

7 times the complement of the angle = 7(90 - x)

7 less than 7 times the complement of the angle = 7(90 - x) - 7

"is" means =

(180 - x) / 2 = 7(90 - x) - 7

180 - x = 14(90 - x) - 14

180 - x = 1260 - 14x - 14

180 - x = 1246 - 14x

180 + 13x = 1246

13x = 1066

x = 82

Answer:  82 degrees.

.

Check:

Supplement of 82 = 180 - 82 = 98

One half of the supplement = 98/2 = 49

Complement = 90 - 82 = 8

7 times the complement = 7 * 8 = 56

7 less than 7 times the complement = 56 - 7 = 49

It works.
