9+42/7-2 Please show order of operations and solve

Working on some pre algebra this summer to keep me fresh for the school year coming up. Came across this problem and I just don't get it! This is what I thought should happen:

9+42=51

7-2=5

51/5=10 1/5

The book has answers in the back and it says the answer is 13. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?
