x+y=x^2-y^2 means x+y=(x+y)(x-y); (x+y)(1-x+y)=0; x=-y or x=y+1

x+y=x/y means either: (x=-y) x=0 and y is indeterminate or vice versa; or (x=y+1) 2y+1=(y+1)/y; 2y^2+y=y+1, so y=sqrt(2)/2 and x=1+sqrt(2)/2=1.7071, y=0.7071.
