The Venn diagram contains one large circle representing U containing three smaller circles representing A, B and C with B and C overlapping, the overlap representing {a} common to B and C (intersect). A, B and C are each subsets of U. The empty set {} is inside U but outside the other three circles. A contains {{b,c}}. Outside the overlap B contains {{b} {c}} and C contains {b c}.
