5x + y = -1

y = -5x -1

slope = -5

 

x - 5y = 10

-5y = -x + 10

y = (1/5)x - 2

slope = 1/5

 

the slopes are perpendicular because if you take -5, change the sign, and flip the fraction, you get 1/5
