Make sure your sketch shows the vertex at (0,-2) and the x intercepts at x=-√6 (about -2.45) and x=√6 (about 2.45). The transformation is a vertical shift down from (0,0) to (0,-2) to the y intercept. The spread of the parabola is governed by the coefficient ⅓. The smaller the fraction the wider the parabola.
