To get the mid-point of a line segment add the x co-ordinates of the end points and divide by 2

and similarly add the y co-ordinates of the end points and divide by 2

(-5+x)/2=1

-5+x=2

x=7

(-3+y)/2=2

-3+y=4

y=7

(x,y)=(7,7)
