Jim is comparing the cost of two parking garages. Garage A charges a flat fee of  $6 per car plus $0.50 per hour. Garage B charges a flat fee of $2 per car plus $1 per hour. After how many hours will the cost at garage A be the same as the cost of Garage B? What will the cost be?

I can't figure this one out.  Please help me.

Call time T. Garage A cost=6+0.5T; garage B cost=2+T. When the costs are the same: 6+0.5T=2+T, so T-0.5T=6-2=4; 0.5T=4, so T=8 hours and the cost is 2+8 or 6+4=$10.
